CNPC eyes stake in Russia’s Gazprom Neft Orenburg Region deposit
TOKYO, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- China’s CNPC is considering acquisition of a stake in an asset belonging to Russian oil company Gazprom Neft in the Orenburg Region, CEO Alexander Dyukov told reporters on Friday.
“They are studying the possibility to enter one of our assets in the Orenburg Region,” Dyukov said without elaborating.
Gazprom Neft’s affiliate in the region operates five deposits with the largest one having reserves of 100 million tonnes of oil equivalent under SPE-PRMS.
Dyukov said separately that Gazprom Neft is discussing the sale of a stake in a smaller deposit Tsarichanskoye and of affiliate Gazpromneft-Vostok.
